Need to Know: God Gives Me Everything I Need! Motions: God (reach to heaven) Gives Me (hands down to chest) Everything I Need (spread arms open wide and rub tummy). Bible Story: Food from Heaven (Exodus 15:22-17:7), The Beginner’s Bible Memory Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Proverbs 3:5
Review This week Cowboy Billy had a bad case of the complaints while out On the Trail. The sun was really hot and Cowboy Billy grew tired of always eating the same ol’ beans. It took a story from God’s Word to teach Cowboy Billy that God gives us everything we need. God provided manna and quail for the Israelites while they were in the desert and God provided Cowboy Billy’s needs while On the Trail as well.
This Week At Home Play a game of Needs/Wants with your preschooler. Point to items in the room where you are and ask him/her to give you a thumbs up if the item you point to is a need. Remember that while there are many things we want, God promises to give us everything we need.

Need to Know: Thank You God for Meeting My Needs Bible Story: God Provides for the Israelites (Exodus 15:22-17:7) Memory Verse: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” Jeremiah 29:11
Review This week we learned the difference between needs and wants. When we have a need, we shouldn’t worry or complain. Instead, we should thank God for what He’s already done for us and ask Him to meet our need.
During our large group time together, Tex had some trouble determining the difference between wants and needs. Tex was hungry but didn’t want beans that Cookie had made, instead, Tex wanted cookies. Tex didn’t want the water that Cookie had and asked for some soda instead. Does that sound familiar? We learned the importance asking God for things we need (not want) and also how we need to be thankful for what He’s already given us.
This Week At Home Take time to discuss some of the needs and wants you have as a family. Recognize the way that God provides those needs for you. Pray and thank God for the ways he provides everything you need.
The best thing you can do for your family is to be an example! Reward and praise your child when he or she applies what they’ve learned. We can’t wait to see you On the Trail this coming Sunday!
