Imagination, JumpStreet, and Shockwave kids had such a great time this week learning the importance of stewardship. A steward is someone who takes care of something that belongs to someone else. Our Bible story taught us that everything belongs to God. Our Back to School Survival Guide Tip was "Take Care of What You've Got.' Our Bible story was the Parable of the Manager from Luke 16:1-3;10-13.

We learned about how practical this tip is when it comes to taking care of our school supplies. It's not always easy to think about the importance of caring for our things, but it's very important to God. Everything we have belongs to Him!

This week in SpringTown and Treehouse, preschoolers learned that "Jesus Gives Me What I Need". We saw Jesus give Peter exactly what he needed in Matthew 17:24-27, and now we know that He gives us exactly what we need, too--from food and water to clothes and shelter. Gather 'round for this Bible story by the campfire...

Another thing God gives us is the Bible, and we all need the Bible! Each week we teach preschoolers how great it is to remember what God says in the Bible. During our Backyard Campout series we have been remembering this verse from Matthew 5:16. If preschoolers can remember this verse on their own next Sunday, they will win a prize!
"Let the good things you do (thumbs up)Shine out for all to see (jazz hands beside face)
So that everyone (reach out to others)
Will praise your Heavenly Father (wave arms up high)."
Matthew 5:16 (hold up five fingers)
This week, our elementary kids, kindergarten through fifth grade, in ImagiNation, Jump Street & Shockwave learned the importance of generosity through the story of "The Real Neighbor" (Luke 10:25-27). Jesus told this story to teach us how we are to respond when we see people in need.

This week's Back to School Survival Guide tip was "See a Need, Meet a Need". This applies to our lives as kids because we can be generous to others by giving them what we have. Our Large Group characters, Cory and Moze, were excited to participate in an oatmeal eating competition that would raise money for the local food bank. They were challenged as they listened to this practical tip from the counselor at Spring Street Elementary.

This week in SpringTown and Treehouse, preschoolers learned what it means to give to others like the little boy who gave his fish and bread to others in John 6:1-14. The little boy in this true story from the Bible loved to give to others, and we hope your preschooler will also say, "I Love To Give To Others!" Gather 'round for this Bible story by the campfire...

In small group we talked about different ways we can give to others. We can give hugs to people who are sad and snacks to people who are hungry. We can also share our money and all the things we have. When we share what God has given us by giving to others, our "light" shines out for all to see! We are remembering this verse from Matthew 5:16:
"Let the good things you do (thumbs up)Shine out for all to see (jazz hands beside face)
So that everyone (reach out to others)
Will praise your Heavenly Father (wave arms up high)."

This week, kids in Imagination, JumpStreet, and Shockwave learned an important Back to School Survival Guide Tip: Give Your Best and Nothing Less! Here's what that looked like this week in Large Group at "Spring Street Elementary".

We can give God our best by how we spend our time and how we spend our money. A poor widow gave God nothing less than her best in Luke 21:1-4. Check out how Cory taught this Bible story to Moze (those are our Large Group characters) straight from his Back to School Survival Guide...

This week we also sang "Everything to God" (by Cheryl Rogers) and learned from Cory and Moze that God always wants our best and nothing less no matter what our situation is. Giving God the first 10% of what we receive--from gifts to allowances--is one way we give God our best. When we give to God it shows that we trust Him for everything we need.
KidSpring kids are encouraged to regularly give their tithe, 10% of any money they have received, whenever they receive it. We have designated places for offering money in each of our environments, and love for kids to give their offering as soon as they arrive. Thank you for allowing us to partner with you as you teach this giving principle at home.
