This Sunday all preschoolers in KidSpring were At the Movies again with BOZ the Big Green Bear. BOZ taught us a song that helped us see that when we grow up, we can be anything God made us to be! We all learned that no matter what we grow up to be, God made us to love others (you can purchase today's BOZ the Bear movie here). So this week, we need to know that God Made Me to Love Others!
When we love others, we are being the church! In small group we talked about how we can be the church by loving others, and everyone went home with a shirt that says, "I Love My Church"! Here are some cute KidSpring kids sporting their new shirts after church...
In Large Group, we watched a clip from Ramona and Beezus. Ramona and her family are going through hard times because Ramona's father loses his job, their house needs repairs, and their car gets put in the shop. Ramona decides to sell lemonade to help her family because she loves them. Ramona taught us what it really means to have love and we learned I Love My Church!
In Small Group, we read the story about what it really means to love from 1 Corinthians 13. We get to show love to our families at home, but when we show love to our church family it shows that we love our church.
Join us later this week to find out more about what we learned!
This week, we learned I Can Have Faith In God! To help us remember this, we memorized a verse from the Bible. The verse is from Hebrews 11:1 and it says "Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being certain of what we cannot see."
We learned that we can have faith in God even if we can't see him or touch him. Throughout this week, see if your child can name different things we cannot see or touch, but we know exist. You can use examples like air, gravity, etc. Explain to your child that we can have faith in those things because we see the effects they have. We can have faith in God because we see His creation, we can feel Him working in our lives, and He sent His son to die for us!
Join us again this Sunday as we continue to look at another movie and see what we can learn about God from that movie!
This Sunday preschoolers had fun At the Movies learning that "God Made Fruits & Vegetables!" In a movie starring BOZ the Big Green Bear, we learned about many of the yummy fruits and vegetables God made for us. You can purchase today's movie for your family here.
In small group we pretended to go grocery shopping as we talked about how we can make good food choices and eat God's yummy fruits and vegetables every day. We can do this by having apples or carrots as a snack instead of cupcakes or drinking water instead of soda.
Make a snack of fruits & vegetables for your preschooler to munch on while you read today's Bible story from Daniel 1:1-21 or practice the series Remember Verse below:
"Everything (reach wide)
God (point up)
made (clap)
is good..." (two thumbs up)
1 Timothy 4:4 (hold up four fingers)
This week in KidSpring, we learned God Tells Me To Forgive Others! To help us remember this, we learned a verse from Matthew 6:14. The verse says, "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."
Throughout this week, encourage your child to forgive others. Whether he or she is upset at a sibling, friend, or neighbor, encourage your child to forgive that person instead of staying upset at him or her. Remind your child that forgiveness is like letting someone start over - we don't hold their actions against them any more!
Join us again in KidSpring on Sunday as we continue learning lessons from the Bible while watching clips from some of our favorite movies!
