Baptism: Leading Your Child to the Next Step

09.21.11

As a parent, God has given you the primary role of nurturing the faith of your child. Use the following discussion points to lead your child in his or her next step--baptism.

  • Once you have committed to following Jesus, you need to let others know by being baptized. The Bible is clear that once we start following Jesus, our next step is to be baptized. (Mark 16:16)
  • Baptism takes place in the water. It is a picture of what Jesus did when He took the punishment for your sins. As you go under the water, you show others you believe Jesus died for you. When you come up out of the water, you show others you believe that God raised Jesus back to life. You have a new life because of Jesus! (Romans 6:4)
  • Getting saved and then baptized does not mean you will always live a perfect life. There will be times in your life when you will sin and make wrong choices. When this happens, you should pray and ask Jesus to forgive you. Even though you will mess up, you can know that Jesus died one time for the forgiveness of ALL our past, present and future sins. That means even though you will sin again, you do not need to be saved or baptized another time. (1 Peter 3:18)
  • You can continue following Jesus by reading your Bible, doing what Jesus says and praying every day. (Psalm 1:2)

KidSpring Takes Over This SUNDAY!

06.28.10

This Sunday, July 4, KidSpring is taking over the adult service. Families will worship together in the main auditorium KidSpring style! There will be LIVE acting, fun games, and awesome worship happening at each campus. Bring everyone you know and join us for a Beach Blast next Sunday as we close out the Family Vacation series.

Here are some things you may be wondering about this day:

Q: Do I check my kids into KidSpring?
A: It depends. For this Sunday only, all families are welcome to worship together in the main auditorium. Parents with children who would normally attend Wonder Way have the option of checking their child into his or her regular environment.

Q: Will my kids be participating on stage?
A: No. All kids and their families will have a blast participating from the audience as we sing many of the worship songs learned during our Beach Blast series and watch how the story of Aaron & Jamie concludes.

Q: What if my family will be out of town?
A: Enjoy your time away, and be sure to catch the service online at www.NewSpring.cc.  You can watch it live at 9:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 6 p.m., or anytime after the following Tuesday. We hope to see your kids back in their regular KidSpring environment the following Sunday!
