Out In The Wild! The Bible Is The Most Amazing Book!

Meet our Safari friends, Up and Adam, and check out the video below to see the amazing Bible stories our elementary-age kids saw in large group this Sunday.  Take time this week to read or talk about these stories with your kids, and then discuss how these stories show us that the Bible is the most amazing book.

Open My Eyes

Throughout our new series, Out in the Wild: African Safari, we are opening our eyes to the wonderful things in the Bible. We are learning about WHO God is and HOW He tells us to live. In Small Group, we shared our favorite stories from the most amazing book - the BIBLE! This week, ask your kids what their favorite Bible stories are, and share your favorite stories with them!

Each series, we practice memorizing a verse from the Bible that helps us remember what we are learning. The verse for this series is a prayer we can say each time we read the Bible. It is found in Psalm 119. Preschoolers are learning verse 18 while Elementary school kids are learning verses 17 and 18 from the Easy-to-Read Version (ERV). You can practice these verses with your kids throughout the week, and if they have them memorized by June 16 (the last week of the series), they will win a wild prize!

Elementary School Small Group Game

This week, we learned God Has A Plan For Me!  Sometimes, we can't see God's whole plan, but we can trust that God has a good plan for us.  To help us understand this, we played a fun game in small group!  The leader had a plan that they read to the kids.  Here's what they had to do:

1. Place the paper plate on top of your heads, with the top of it facing up.
2. Draw a line on the plate to be the floor.
3. Draw a Christmas tree.
4. Draw a star on top of your tree.
5. Draw a fireplace beside the tree.
6. Draw a stocking on the fireplace.
7. Draw a present below the tree.

After finishing the plan, the leader used a rubric to give appropriate points to the kids:

1. 2 points if the tree touches the floor.
2. 2 points if your stocking is touching the fireplace.
3. 1 point if your star touches your tree.
4. 1 point if your star is above your tree.
5. 1 point if your fireplace doesn’t touch the tree (it’s a fire hazard!).
6. 2 points if your present is under your tree.

Christmas at KidSpring! (Preschool):: 2012

Merry Christmas! The preschoolers in KidSpring had an amazing time celebrating Jesus' birthday at all of our Christmas services! In small group, we decorated Christmas tree party hats that point to Jesus, we played "Birthday Bingo", and we ate Christmas tree birthday cakes!

In large group we jumped into Rudy Reindeer's radio station at the North Pole as we learned why we celebrate Jesus' birthday at Christmastime. Click below to see all the videos we watched in large group, and the last video is our very own recording of "Happy Birthday Jesus"! Sing it with your family as you celebrate Jesus' birthday this Christmas!

Christmas at KidSpring! (Elementary School):: 2012

We had so much fun celebrating Christmas in KidSpring! We learned that God Sent His Son To Be The Savior Of The World!

We hope your kids enjoy their Christmas gifts from KidSpring and that your family has a great Christmas! We can't wait to see you back next week as we finish up our North Pole News series!
