This Sunday Miss/Mr. Wise's Wiggle Worms learned to Say "No" To Cheating! as we continued our Let's Play School series on Proverbs. Willy Worm, our class pet, told us how Zacchaeus learned to say "No" to Cheating in Luke 19:1-10. Just say "Where's Willy Worm?" and click below to hear Willy tell the story!
In small group we talked about different ways we may want to cheat--like peeking and not waiting your turn. We practiced saying "no" to cheating by playing "Teacher, Teacher Where's Your Bear"--we made sure we did not peek when the bear was being hidden!
Some time this week, read your child the story of Zacchaeus from a children's Bible, and practice this week's Remember Verse:
"The Lord hates (point to your frown)
Anyone who cheats (place hands over eyes, fingers spread, like you're peeking)
But He likes (point to your smile)
Everyone who is honest." (two thumbs up)
Proverbs 11:1 (hold up one finger)
This Sunday 3,294 kids joined us in KidSpring! While here, preschoolers had fun playing school and pretending to be students in Miss/Mr. Wise's preschool class. The letter O was our letter of the day, and we learned that the word Obey begins with the letter O. Miss/Mr. Wise and our small group leaders taught us to Say "Yes" To Obeying! Proverbs tells us that God specifically wants us to obey are our parents. Practice this verse with your preschooler(s) this week and see if you can remember it better each day!
"My child, (thumbs to chest)
obey the teachings (salute)
of your parents." (reach up high)
Proverbs 1:8 (hold up one finger)
Our small group leaders and Willy Worm, our class pet, told us a Bible story about how Jesus said "Yes" to obeying! Say "Where's Willy Worm?" as you click below to watch him tell this true story from Luke 2:41-52:
Elementary kids had fun on Sunday learning more Sideways Stories from Springside School!
Not only did we hear sideways stories from our morning announcers, Cameron and Jordan, but we also learned a wacky proverb from our favorite principal, Mr. Wise! He taught us Proverbs 29:25, " A person's fear sets a trap for him, but one who trusts the Lord is safe."
Mr. Wise also told us a story about a time when the Bible helped him know what to do when a student named Notso was too scared to go to his class. It's a good thing Mr. Wise remembered the story of Caleb & Joshua in Numbers 13-14.
Join us next week as we learn more wacky wise words from the book of Proverbs!
Sunday we began a brand new series called Sideways Stories from Springside School!
Springside is the wackist school in the wolrd and it's the perfect place for us to learn wacky wise words from the book of Proverbs!
In their first episode of SWSTV, Cameron and Jordan, the school's morning announcers, shared some crazy sideways stories from Springside Elementary. They also introduced us to Mr. Wise, the principal, who helps us learn wise words from the book of Proverbs. This week, we learned Proverbs 4:5, "Let wise people listen and add to what they learn."
Mr. Wise also told us a sideways story where listening to the Bible helped him make the wise choice!
Join us again next week as we hear more sideways stories and learn more wise words from Mr. Wise!
This Sunday we began a new series called Let's Play School! During this eight week series preschoolers will become apart of Miss/Mr. Wise's pretend preschool class. Miss/Mr. Wise's students are known as Miss/Mr. Wise's Wiggle Worms, named after their class pet Willy Worm. Each week Willy Worm wiggles through the Bible to find stories that help answer our every day questions. This week Conor, one of Miss/Mr. Wise's students, was wondering if God will protect us when we are at school. Willy found this Bible story from Daniel 6 to help us learn that "God Will Protect Me!":
In small group we talked about different things we are scared of--loud dogs, storms, doctor's visits, fireworks, creepy bugs & the dark. We learned from Proverbs 3:26 that "You can be sure that the Lord will protect you from harm." Practice remembering Proverbs 3:26 with your preschooler this week, and remind them that they do not have to be afraid of anything, especially going to school, because they know "God Will Protect Me!"
Join us next weekend for another exciting day in Miss/Mr. Wise's pretend preschool class where we will learn a new Proverb and another exciting story from the Bible!
