Sunday at KidSpring (Elementary)::  June 5, 2011

06.05.11

Sunday in KidSpring, we continued to learn about the fruit of the Spirit God grows in our hearts.  These are the good things the Holy Spirit produces in our lives.  Up & Adam told the story of David showing kindness to Mephibosheth.  Kindness is showing God's love to others.

Each week, we're learning one more word from our memory verse, Galatians 5:22-23.  So far, we've learned the verse up to the word "kindess."  Keep practicing the verse so that by the end of our series, On the Farm, you can say the whole thing!

"But the Holy Spirit  produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."

KidSpring preschoolers had Fun on the Farm this Sunday learning about Patience! We can have patience when we wait with a happy heart like Noah did in the Bible. Listen & watch as Uncle Earl tells us the story of Noah's patience in Genesis 6-9:

Continue practicing our series Remember Verse about the Fruit of the Spirit, and if your child waits with a happy heart, he or she will win a prize for remembering it on July 10:

“The Holy Spirit   (point up)

produces this kind of fruit   (roll arms around each other)

in our lives:   (thumbs to chest)

love,   (cross arms over chest)

joy,   (point to smile)

peace,   (peace sign)

patience,   (tap watch)

kindness,   (right thumbs up)

goodness,   (left thumbs up)

faithfulness,   (pat heart)

gentleness,   (stroke arm)

and self-control.”   (reach out and pull fists into sides)

Galatians 5:22-23   (hold up five fingers)

Sunday in KidSpring, our elementary school kids learned about PATIENCE on the Farm!  Patience is waiting with a happy heart!  In large group, CJ learned a few things about patience...but only after the tractor ended up in the pond!

This week, continue to ask God to grow the fruit of the Spirit in your heart.  The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  These are the good things that the Holy Spirit produces in our lives.

This week we had Fun on the Farm learning a lot about Peace. Peace is one of the good things that God's Spirit grows in our heart--it's a Fruit of the Spirit. By making "Peace Books" in small group and by listening to Uncle Earl's Bible story in Large Group, we learned that peace is knowing God will take care of you and me. Because we know that God will take care of us, we can say, "I Can Have Peace!" Click below to hear and see the Bible story from John 6:16-20 & Matthew 14:33 that helped us understand what peace is.

One way we know God takes care of us is by remembering what He says in the Bible. Practice remembering this verse with your family this week:

“The Holy Spirit   (point up)

produces this kind of fruit   (roll arms around each other)

in our lives:   (thumbs to chest)

love,   (cross arms over chest)

joy,   (point to smile)

peace,   (peace sign)

patience,   (tap watch)

kindness,   (right thumbs up)

goodness,   (left thumbs up)

faithfulness,   (pat heart)

gentleness,   (stroke arm)

and self-control.”   (reach out and pull fists into sides)

Galatians 5:22-23   (hold up five fingers)
