In Large Group, we watched a clip from Tangled. Rapunzel was kidnapped so each year on her birthday, her parents released lanterns in her honor. Every year Rapunzel would see the floating lanterns on her birthday and each year she became more confident that the floating lanterns were for her. Rapunzel had a dream to go see the lanterns In person and ended up finding out that the lanterns were for her! She was able to find out the truth about the lanterns because she was confident in what she believed in. Tangled taught us I Can Be Confident In What I Believe!
In Small Group, we read the story about the fiery furnace in Daniel 3. In this story, King Nebuchadnezzr wanted everyone to bow down and worship a gold statue. He told everyone that if they didn't worship the statue they would be thrown in a fiery furnace to die. Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego refused to worship anyone other than God so they were thrown in the furnace! They were confident that God would not let them be hurt because they believed in him. They were confident in what they believed in and God protected them.
