This Sunday, we watched a clip from How To Train Your Dragon to help us learn I Can Love My Enemies! In the movie, Hiccup had always been told that dragons were the enemy. Then, Hiccup got to meet a dragon and they became friends. Hiccup was able to teach his father and the rest of his village that we can love our enemies!
In small group, we read a story from Genesis 31-33 about a man who forgave his brother. In this story, Jacob tricked his father into giving him the family blessing. The blessing actually belonged to his older brother, Esau. When Esau found out, he was very angry and Jacob fled to be safe. Years later, Jacob and Esau met again. Instead of being angry, Esau forgave Jacob! Although the brothers used to be enemies, Esau knew that I Can Love My Enemies!
