Sunday At KidSpring (Elementary School):: October 23, 2011

10.23.11

This week in The Great Race, we traveled to the Amazon River in South America and learned that we should encourage others when they are being bullied!

In Large Group, racers on each team had to paddle canoes down the Amazon River in order to win.  Kip Daring's plan of encouraging his teammate while paddling worked much better than Dr. Despair's plan to cheat and hide a motor under the canoe.  Kip Daring's team won and kept the championship medal!

In our Bible Story from Nehemiah 4, Nehemiah encouraged his people to keep building the wall even though some bullies named Sanballat and Tobiah came to make fun of them.  Just like Nehemiah encouraged his people when they were bullied, we should do the same thing!  We should remember I Will Keep On Encouraging Others When They Are Bullied!

We also learned the next part of our Memory Verse.  We learned

"We should remove from our lives (act like you are tossing something over shoulder)

anything that would get in the way (use hands to cover eyes)

and the sin that holds us back.  (make fists and pull back toward body)

Hebrews 12:1b"

Remember that we learned the first part of the verse last week and we will learn more of the verse in the next few weeks!  Keep practicing the verse at home!

Come back next week to see what we will be learning from Nehemiah!
