A Promise You Can Believe In

Isaiah 54:1-57:14

As the presidential election draws near, we can expect to be overwhelmed with messages from the candidates, their parties, and local and national leaders. Searching to find a flaw, the media will dissect every statement and question the meaning of each word. Often we treat God’s word the same way. But unlike a human promise, God’s promise is flawless and true. Candidates will let us down, but God’s Word never fails.

Isaiah 55:1-2 invites us to put our time, our money and our hope in the Lord, the only one who can save us: "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.”

By faith, we believe God’s Word and follow His instructions. Isaiah 55:3 declares, “Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.” God already has a plan for the economy, health care, the environment and every other issue we face. It started thousands of years ago with the arrival of His son, Jesus. Only by making Jesus our king will we experience eternal joy and peace.

You don’t have to wait until Election Day to choose Jesus. Accept God’s invitation right now. Surrender your life to Jesus today.
