Arise And Shine

Hebrews 10.24-25, Acts 2.42-47

In our society, it’s easy to get lazy about going to church. There are countless excuses to not go.

“My kids are little, they won’t remember.”

“I’ve got to rest before the week starts, and this is a day of rest.”

“The church is full of hypocrites so why bother?”

The Bible tells us to get up and go to church. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” We see the first church in Acts meeting together in the temple courts, “and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

A practical way for us to be encouraged and held accountable is to worship alongside other believers. So rise and shine. What a great opportunity to live in a country where we have the freedom to sing about and talk about and worship our Savior.
