Because He Cares

An age-old question plagues us: “Why do bad things happen to ‘good’ people?”

There are two types of people in this world, but they are not “good” and “bad.”  There only are those who have recognized Jesus as their Savior and those who have not. God promises blessing and cursing for both groups, unrelated to their performance, effort or works.

So why let trouble come? God wants the best for His children. And sometimes, the best thing He can do for us is to put us in situations we cannot handle so we might turn to Him, recognize His power and mercy, and receive His blessing.

In Psalm 34:19 God makes two promises: First, that we will have many troubles and second, that the Lord will deliver us. I know both promises are true. Our troubles could vary from unemployment or divorce to cancer or betrayal, but the same God who warned you that those troubles would come has promised to give you a way through them.

Of the billions of people on this planet, God genuinely cares for what is troubling your heart and He wants to help you through it. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you." Cast all the stress, worry, frustration, effort and anger on Him. Jesus can and wants to handle it, because He cares for you.
