Called to Trust

Have you ever misplaced your glasses only to find them on your head? Or been talking to a friend about how you lost your phone, only to realize you are talking on your phone? Sometimes we look so hard that we miss what we are looking for.

In John 6, the Jews were looking right at the answer to it all, but they let not understanding lead them to not trusting Jesus. They didn't understand how Jesus could possibly be the great Messiah from heaven when they knew Jesus' earthly mother and father. It didn't make any sense! They were so caught up in not understanding that they decided not to believe that Jesus could do impossible things. John 6:43-44 says, "'Stop grumbling among yourselves,' Jesus answered. 'No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.’" Jesus knew that the Jews didn't understand, but He called them to trust anyway.

Jesus knows that you may not understand whatever it is that He has called you to in your life, but He is calling you to trust. Don't look so hard for understanding that you miss the blessing right in front of you. No matter what Jesus is calling you to or how much you don't understand it, trust Him anyway.

  • How can you trust God even in times that you don't understand?
