God Is For Us

Romans 8:26-39, Genesis

When hard times come my way, one of my first instincts is to wonder if God is seeking revenge on me in some sneaky way. This is a lie! God is for us, even when it doesn’t feel like it.

John 10:10 says, “The thief (Satan) comes only to steal, kill and destroy...” (ESV). To realize God is actually for me, I must know that Satan is trying to steal my faith, kill my relationship with Jesus and destroy any good thoughts I have about Him.

Generally, when I think God is against me it’s because I am more focused on my circumstances than the God who placed them in my life. The next time you come face-to-face with a hard situation and start blaming God for being against you and despising you, remember that Satan is a liar. God has what is best for us in mind.

Bank on the promise of Romans 8:31-32: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” (ESV). God is for you. He loves you and wants the best for you.
