God of Hope

Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Worldly hope is completely different from the hope that God speaks about through scripture. The world talks about hope as something we can move towards. The world does not see hope as something that we should wait for but rather something that we can run towards. Looking for a new church, looking for a new doctor, looking for a new job, looking for a new school for the kids. These are all things that we hope for but have no desire to wait on.

When we have the hope that is talked about in this verse we are able to sit and wait patiently for what God has next. His hope is one that allows us to look to the future with confidence. His hope allows us to know that no matter what happens in this world that He will never leave us or forsake us. His hope allows us to wake up everyday knowing that God is still great and God is still good.
