God Wants Us All

We are called to honor God above all else, and to be especially conscious as we honor Him with our money, which can be one of the biggest competitor for our hearts. Instead we find ourselves holding onto it so dearly, afraid to give it up. We think that we might know how to better satisfy ourselves or how to better manage our lives than the one who knows every detail of our past and our future. We must remember everything in this world is a gift from God. Deuteronomy 8:1-8 shows that money and wealth is ultimately from God. He asks us to be good stewards of His money and to remember that the only reason we have wealth is because of His favor on us.

Amy Carmichael, a Christian missionary in India in the early 1900s, put it beautifully when she said, ““It is a safe thing to trust Him to fulfill the desires which He creates.” God doesn’t want control over our finances to hold out on us. He wants to give us the ultimate fulfillment, which comes through exalting His name. In turn, He promises to provide for us and give us complete joy (John 15:11).
