God Would Like to Say Something

Revelation 1:3 says those who read, hear and take the message of Revelation to heart will be blessed. It’s as if God is giving the reluctant reader incentive to press on. Verses 1, 2, 10 and 11 make it clear that John is writing under God’s divine influence. Then, in verse 12, John begins the beautiful account of what God has shown him.

The fact that God had John arrange the opening of this book to show that this mesage comes from God and has power for those who read it makes for one incredible point. There is a physical God who is trying to communicate with us, and if we let Him, our lives will be blessed.

In John’s desciption of God’s presence, he says, “…his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.” Rushing water has a unique sound. It fills the surrounding area with a sense of serenity, while still implying the river’s strength and force. When we ask ourselves how God is trying to communicate with us, we can think about the sound of rushing water. God wants us to find peace in Him while still recognizing His power. Sometimes we just need to close our eyes and listen.
