Little Big Church

NewSpring can seem overwhelming, not only in size, but also in opportunity. We can respond to being part of a growing church in one of two ways. We can jump in and get involved. Or, we can sit back and observe. How we respond to the opportunities in front of us determines how we experience God and build friendships within the church.

NewSpring is not the first church to experience rapid growth. After Jesus’s death, the early church grew exponentially in size. Members viewed this obstacle of magnitude as an opportunity of servitude and opened their homes for small groups and gatherings. Nympha, a member of the early church, received a shoutout in Paul’s letter simply because she had a servant's heart and opened up her home to others to hear the Gospel. "Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house" (Colossians 4:15). Nympha’s  house church read and prayed together, encouraged one another and did life together.

These same opportunities exist in our church. As we reach out to those we serve with and share the resources and talents God has blessed us with, we will begin to see that our church has plenty of room for more people.
