Living in Community

If you’ve been around NewSpring at all you have heard the term, “You Can’t Do Life Alone.” But you may be wondering what exactly it means. We believe that God created us with a need for community - whether that’s having a shopping buddy, a spouse or a group of friends. We need people and people need us. That’s why God put us around people!

In Acts, we see the start of the church and the beginning of this “home group” community idea. These early Christians were devoted to the church, expectant of Jesus’ return and inspired by His ministry. Acts 2 tells us about their devotion to living out what they were learning from God’s Word, to living life together, to spending time together and remembering God’s faithfulness, and to helping meet each other’s needs no matter what.

Verses 44-46 say, “All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together.”

By taking time to be in a home group, meet with a friend, or just spend time with people in church, you experience more encouragement and support that you can ever imagine. Not only can you not do life alone, you can do life better with a group!
