More Than Crumbs for Everyone

The woman in Mark 7:24-30 is starving; she is desperate for Jesus’s help. She is not a Jew. Many people—likely including herself—feel she is not worthy to ask Jesus anything. But she has heard stories of His healing power and she wants, and needs, to experience it. Her faith and courage save her daughter.

In Mark 8, Jesus is faced with more hungry people. There are 4,000 of them. Many have traveled far to listen to this man preach God’s Word like never before. They have been there all day without eating. Jesus can’t send them home with empty stomachs for fear they’ll faint. So with seven loaves of bread and a few small fish, He feeds them.

In both stories, there was more than enough food to go around. Enough for the church people and the outsiders. Enough Jesus for all people.

There is more than enough Jesus to go around. He will feed anyone who comes to Him hungry, physically and spiritually. When you seek Him with a faithful heart, He always can and always will fill you.
