No Coincidence

Cornelius was a good man. He was generous and prayed to God. He even feared God. But he lacked one important thing. He didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. The angel couldn’t simply tell Cornelius about Jesus. The way of salvation had to come from a human messenger. And God had just the person in mind.

Before the vision from God, Peter would have thought Cornelius could not be saved because he wasn’t Jewish. In fact, Peter wouldn’t have even associated with Cornelius. But God prepared Peter for his meeting Cornelius’s messengers by sending him the vision. It’s pretty awesome to see how the Lord was working in both men’s lives.

Do you know anyone like Cornelius? A good person who does good things for other people, but doesn’t have a personal relationship with Christ? Are you willing to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them? There are no coincidences in the people we meet. Just like Peter and Cornelius, God has designed every encounter we will have. Be reassured that God prepares you just as He did Peter. Our job is to simply be obedient and tell others about our Lord and Savior.
