No Magic Buttons

I might be the person the GPS was invented for. I’m dependent on it whenever I take a road trip. Walking with God can be a little like driving with my GPS. With GPS, I type in the destination then rely on the machine to draw a pink line and get me there. With God, the process is similar. I put in my destination—to look more like Christ—and He draws the line for me to follow.

However, my GPS has a button I can press to see what’s ahead. This button allows me to keep a bit of control. There is no button like that when following God. He takes that button away so we will hand complete control over to Him.

Jeremiah 29:11 says it best, “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  God assures us that He’s worthy of having control of our lives, so we can sit back and trust that He’s taking us to a good place.
