Not to us, O Lord, but to your Name

Psalm 115

Our time, effort and resources are valuable. Although many things vie for attention, we reserve our energy and our money for the endeavors that are important to us.

We often pray, “Lord, bless what I do.” But have you considered what the Lord would have you do? Or, have you considered His counsel regarding the things you have set your heart and mind to?

To fear the Lord is to reverently know that God has plans for us and wants us to come alongside Him saying, “Not to us, O Lord, but to Your name be the glory” (Psalm 115:1). It doesn’t matter who you are since “He will bless those who fear the LORD—small and great alike” (Psalm 115:13). The next step for many of us is to believe that success is hidden in the things God has planned for us and to seek Him so we can discover what His plans are.
