We remember benchmark life lessons. Some are learned quickly with simplicity while others are learned through perplexity, taking a painfully long time. In areas of our lives where there is freedom, forgiveness and wholeness, it’s easy to learn what God wants to teach us. When this process requires more energy, understanding and heart than we can muster, we burn-out, compromise or give up. Let’s consider this: We need more room. We need to open our hearts and lives up wider for God. We need to make accommodations for all that He wants to do and teach us. He is capable of doing so much through us as His church. Our increased capacity for God’s activity in our lives means freedom, forgiveness and wholeness for the hurting and broken around us.

Isaiah 54:2-3 says, “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.“  Imagine what good we can do in our communities, our cities and our world when our capacity to reach out and serve is increased.

Consider how God is be able to do awesome things in your life because of the permission and platform you’ve given Him. God has abundant life in store for whosoever will come so let’s respond to His call for us to make even more room. He can do amazing things in us and through us.
