Praise His Name Forever

What are your special talents or gifts, spiritual or otherwise? Maybe you are a good speaker, can write well, understand quantum physics or can teach others. Everyone has talents, and how we use them is an act of worship. We're all worshipping something. So who are we worshipping with the gifts we've been given?

The writer of Psalm 44 had skills with a bow and arrow, but rightly recognizes that the person who gave him this gift is far greater than the gift itself. Psalm 44:6-8 says, “I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory, but You give us victory over our enemies, You put our adversaries to shame. In God, we make our boast all day long, and we will praise Your name forever.”

God uniquely gifts each of us, not to bring us glory, but for those gifts to be used to bring the glory back to Him, the One who blesses. So the next time you solve that math problem, make that touchdown pass or write an essay, give thanks and praise to the One who enables you to do it.
