We all have questions. Questions about God, about church, about being a Christ follower, about life and human character. Questions can cause us to fear taking a next step, especially if our next step involves witnessing about Jesus’ power. If we talk to someone about Jesus, they may ask us a question we don’t know the answer to; then what will we do?

The Bible reminds us that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). We don’t have to fear the questions of others if we are following Christ. His love is living inside us. We also don’t have to worry about having the right words to say. In 1 John 4:18 we are reminded that when we are put in a tough situation, the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say. God has an answer to all the questions we may encounter.

There may be many questions we or others have about God or Christianity, but what Jesus has done in our lives is hard to question or debate. This is how Paul approached his ministry and described his teaching in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5. “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” When you are given the opportunity to witness to someone about Jesus, focus on what He has done in you. Your testimony is your greatest tool, and Christ will always equip you for what He has called you to!

  • Have you allowed Jesus to change you?
  • Is fear of not knowing enough holding you back from witnessing to others?
  • When have you been touched by the power of someone’s story of life change? Have you been sharing your story of change with others?
