There are so many things we try to satisfy ourselves with, but they always leave us feeling empty. Our culture often tries to convince us that money will satisfy us, but we have so many examples of wealthy people who are not and were not satisfied. For example, King Solomon was one of the wealthiest rulers to walk on our planet and he wrote in Ecclesiastes 5:10, “Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless.”

C.S. Lewis, Christian writer and theologian wrote, “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”

The reason why there is nothing in this world that satisfies us is because we were not created to be satisfied in this world. We were created to for another world, a world in which we live in perfect harmony with the Lord, where He ultimately satisfies us.

Isaiah 55:2 says, “Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.”
