Are you ready to brave the wilderness?

John the Baptist chose the wilderness. He was a wild man, living off locusts and wild honey and calling people to repentance (Matthew 3:4-6
). While some would consider living in the wilderness a punishment, John saw purpose in the wilderness.
God uses the wilderness in the lives of His children. Though it can be a time of loneliness, difficulty, and unrest, God uses the dry places in our life to shape us for the work ahead.
Whether we find ourselves in the wilderness by choice or circumstance, Jesus meets us there (Matthew 3:13
). Just like he did with John. At that moment, John saw Jesus' divinity revealed and God's promise fulfilled (Matthew 3:11
We experience dry seasons for many reasons — a job loss, a move, a broken relationship, or a newborn’s new schedule. No matter what brings us to the wilderness, we are never without the presence of God. The Holy Spirit lives in each of us and teaches us even in the barren places.
We can trust Emmanuel. God is with us.
