Take that Satan!

Isaiah 51:1-53:12

I have struggled with self-esteem since I was a teenager. Even now, I struggle to see myself as a daughter of the King. Satan just loves to bring up sins from my past and remind me of who I was before I met Jesus. Isaiah 52:2 is a powerful reminder for every believer, but especially those struggling with their position as a child of God.

“Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, O Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, O captive Daughter of Zion" (Isaiah 52:2).

Try reading it out loud, right now. If you are a man, replace “Daughter” with “Son.”

Brush off your shoulders because your “dust” has been forgiven. Stand tall and accept your salvation as the gift that it is. God wants to invest in you as His child, so accept His love, respect His guidance and take your responsibilities as His witness seriously. Forget about your past and allow yourself to live in the complete freedom of total forgiveness.

Undoubtedly we will still face days when we don’t feel worthy. That's why it's so important to fix our hearts and minds on the truth of the Bible. The more we remind ourselves of who we are in Christ, the easier it becomes to live it. Take that Satan!
