The Language of Love

A core belief of our church is that growing people change. Part of change is learning the right attitude toward others, even those who are not like us. As Christians, we should be speaking in the language of love.

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul tells the church in Corinth that every believer is a part of the body of Christ. While everyone had different gifts and abilities, everyone belonged because God chose them. God does not change. He alone is still setting people in the church today. Who are we to speak with prejudice, arrogance or disrespect to or about those who God has chosen?

Proverbs 21:23-24 warns that disaster results when we do not guard our tongues. Instead, look at the language of love outlined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, kind, not envious, not boasting or proud, not dishonoring others, not self-seeking, not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs. As you grow in your faith, are you becoming more fluent in the language love?
