Who Do You Trust?

“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man” (Psalm 118:8)

Do you remember what you did during late-night thunderstorms as a kid? Or after you had a bad dream?

Most of us cried out and ran to our parents’ sides. In that moment, all we cared about was feeling safe again. Our fear hadn’t necessarily been relinquished, but now we were in the presence of someone who could protect us.

Where we seek refuge says everything about where our trust lies. As children, we trust our parents and are willing to trust them with our lives. As Christians we should be putting our trust in Jesus. Are we? When things get out of hand at work do we run toward Jesus or do we have a drink to loosen up? When you have an arguement with your spouse do you seek God’s Word or trash your spouse to your friends?

Having people in your life that love Jesus and you is important, but don’t put all your trust in them; people will fail. Being wise with your money is smart, but do not be fooled into believing it alone can sustain you. Trust Christ. Only He can do all things.
