Who Is God’s Favorite?

We all have favorites — favorite songs, books, sports teams, TV shows. When we prefer one thing over another, we give it favor and it becomes our favorite.

God also has favorites — us. Proverbs 8:35 says those who find wisdom find life and receive favor from the Lord. So where do we find this wisdom that leads to God’s favor?

In 1 Corinthians 1:30, the Bible says Jesus “has become for us wisdom from God.” To know Jesus is to know wisdom, and when we ask Jesus into our lives, God shows us favor.

God’s favor is not something we earned; it’s something He gives to us through Jesus. God loved us so much He sent His son to die in our place for our sins. Jesus’ death made a way for us to have a relationship with God.

Wisdom is more than knowing something, wisdom is knowing the One who knows everything. When we know Jesus, we know wisdom. And as we follow Jesus, we start to think like He does, ultimately making wiser decisions that will give God glory and do the most good.
