With the Bad Always Comes Good

Ever had a bad day? A bad week? A bad year? A bad life? We all know trials are bound to happen. Whether it is just one bad day or several that seem to never return to a good one, the fact is hardships will be a part of everyone’s life.

James 1:2 tells us to consider it pure joy whenever we face trials. Not if we have them or should we face them, but when we do. I’m not sure about you, but my first instinct when something bad happens is to retreat and dwell on it. I easily forget anything and everything good I have had or currently have in my life. My focus becomes the negative something, leaving no room for gratitude for the positive.

Psalm 143:5 tells us to “remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all Your works and consider what Your hands have done.” When you are facing a trial or having a bad day, remember what God has already done for you. Meditate on His good works. Consider what His hands have done and keep focus on what He is trying to mold you into.
