The Lord is There
Overview: Ezekiel 47-48, 2 Peter 3
As the book of Ezekial comes to an end, the prophet describes the river which begins at the temple and flows to the sea, giving life to everything it touches. It concludes with a detailed description of the division of the land into the inheritances for each of the tribes of Israel. This vision represents the message of the whole book of Ezekiel. Israel’s access to the Lord, His presence, and His holy city have been renewed.
"And the name of the city from that time on shall be, The Lord Is There.” - Ezekiel 48:35
Peter concludes his second letter with a reminder that Jesus will return. Although He seems delayed, the Lord is patient, not slow, to fulfill His promise. While we wait, we should grow in the love and knowledge of Him, while avoiding the sinful ways of false teachers.
