You Are Significant

In Acts 23, a group of more than 40 unbelieving Jews have come together to conspire against Paul. They plan to ambush him and take his life. They swear not eat or drink until Paul is dead. Overhearing their plans, Paul’s nephew tells Paul what is going to happen. Paul sends him to the commander to relay the news, and Paul’s life is saved.

This young man took a courageous step of faith. He did not allow fear to keep him from doing what he knew was right. He risked his comfort to help stop a murder even though it could have cost him his own life. His role in these events could easily be overlooked. We don’t know Paul’s nephew’s name, let alone any other details of his life. But God used this nameless boy to save Paul’s life.

Act 23 reminds us that we all play a part in God’s plan. No one is insignificant. We each have a purpose that is as important as the role Paul’s nephew’s in saving Paul’s life. Do you know what God is calling you to? If you don’t, ask God to show you your next step. Then have the faith and courage to step into the role the Lord has planned for you, no matter the cost.
