Your Sacrifice Will Be Rewarded

The phone rings. The timing is terrible, but the person on the other end is in need. To meet the need, it will require personal sacrifice. The sacrifice could be money, sleep, time. We have all been on one side of this conversation, and we call or respond out of love and respect for the other person. We do what is necessary out of love, but many times the service turns into our own blessing.

Boaz respected Ruth because she had completely changed her life to take care of her mother-in-law. He provided above and beyond what Ruth needed. Ruth was serving out of a faithful heart, and God provided through Boaz.

No matter where we are in life, God has more in store for us. There are times when patience is required. Ruth was taking care of her mother-in-law, and it is safe to assume everyday was not easy.

Boaz tells Ruth in verse 12, “May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

God will repay his servants. Some will receive financial blessings, but God’s immeasurably more is beyond financial prosperity. Through salvation, we have more than we ever could deserve.
