Our state of South Carolina was hit with one of the worst natural disasters in its history when heavy rain and flooding struck in early October 2015. At least 15 people died, tens of thousands were without running water or electricity, and total damage estimates rose to $1.5 billion. But that wasn't the only story.

Waves of Relief

From the beginning, the church moved into action. Thankfully, generosity from the people of NewSpring, other churches, and organizations—both local and national—enabled us to meet immediate needs in areas of the worst damage.

Your generosity has been amazing—a tangible demonstration of God's care and provision for those in need:

  • 597,408 bottles of water donated
  • 88 shelters and ministries received shipments of food, water, and supplies
  • 1900 volunteers mobilized
  • 156 homes cleaned up and worked on

Thank you for making a difference by bringing hope and restoration to people in this time of crisis.

What Now?

Cleanup continued for weeks after the flooding and rebuilding is far from over, but we're committed to helping our state. We have shifted from disaster relief to disaster recovery. Currently, we're helping people restore their lives, rebuild their homes, and replace their belongings.
