See what it means to be #ForSC

Take a bow, NewSpring volunteers!

More than 2,100 of you gathered all across South Carolina on April 1 to show our local communities that we are #ForSC.

Smiling, T-shirt cladded crews were scattered at project sites large and small, putting in sweat and elbow grease to help individuals in need and support organizations that serve our state.

Prayers, hugs, and high-fives were everywhere, and social media was filled with group photos and shots of volunteers at work. We've posted a few for you to enjoy below.

“We are #ForSC and that means loving on people in our state … and it was beyond fantastic!” Sara Kauffman posted on Instagram about the Foster Care Carnival held in Greenville.

Kelsey Shealy participated in a project at The Women’s Shelter in Columbia.

“Today, we got the opportunity to help a lady move into her new apartment that she has been working so hard to buy for her and her 8-year-old daughter,” Kelsey posted on Instagram. “It was so great to see how happy she was when she stepped into that apartment!!”

ForSC is an ongoing opportunity for NewSpring attenders to love an invisible God by loving a visible neighbor.

Here’s a sampling of 98 projects accomplished Saturday by our 15 campuses across the state:

In the Upstate:

  • Landscaping and painting at Kid Venture Playground in Anderson.
  • Stocking and organizing food and donations at Clemson Community Care in Clemson.
  • Organizing a Foster Family Carnival in Greenville.
  • Construction at The Dream Center’s Opportunity Village in Easley.
  • Stocking and organizing food and donations at Project Hope, a food pantry in Rock Hill.
  • Construction at The Haven, a homeless shelter in Spartanburg.
