NewSpring campuses will reopen Sunday, July 12 for Sunday gatherings, fireworks will go on as planned, and high school seniors are getting a special send-off later this summer.

Those were just a few of the announcements the Lead Team shared this week. Watch the entire Leadership Team Update in the video above.

NewSpring’s Campus Reopening Plan

After a lot of time in prayer and seeking wise counsel, most NewSpring campuses will reopen on July 12.

(Because NewSpring Rock Hill and NewSpring Hilton Head currently meet in schools, their reopening dates are still TBD.)

NewSpring at Home will continue online until every campus is able to gather in person again. When the House to House series ends, campus buildings will reopen to staff members, as well as small groups and smaller events. At the same time, we’ll have the opportunity to start inviting neighbors to join us for church at home on Sundays.

As a church, we always want to respect the guidelines set by health and government officials and love our neighbors well, just as the Bible calls us to (Romans 13:1-10). So while these plans may change as the situation changes, the hope is that by mid-July, we’ll be able to resume gathering safely.

Join us Friday, July 10 at for a Leadership Team Update on campus reopening plans and the measures we’re taking to help you stay healthy.

Summer Fireworks

We’ll celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks just as we have in years past. It might look a little different based on what’s recommended by the CDC, but go ahead and save the date for June 28.

Gauntlet Senior Retreat

Every student has been affected by COVID-19, but one group of students has been hit particularly hard — high school seniors. So we’re inviting high school seniors to Gauntlet Senior Retreat, a special three-day event for graduated seniors July 27-29 in Greenville, SC. More details to come!

While campus doors have been closed, the church has remained active.

Over the last eight weeks, your giving (in your time and your tithes) made a massive impact!

  • NewSpring was able to give 10,000 N95 masks to medical professionals and first responders in our communities
  • Our staff has been able to partner with nonprofits and other churches to help them stream their services.
  • The Blood Connection collected 1,200 units of blood across the state. Plus, 700 of you gave blood for the first time!
  • Staff and volunteers have delivered 21,000 meals to the elderly through Meals on Wheels and Harvest of Hope.
  • Campuses have delivered meals to more than 4,000 local healthcare workers.
  • And, in addition to what’s been happening with COVID-19, 500 volunteers helped clear debris from 84 homes affected by the Oconee County tornado.
