Testing His Generosity - Keshia Blakely’s Story

Keshia Blakely's story

Keshia Blakely first heard about NewSpring in a letter from her children's elementary school.

A church would be giving away backpacks stuffed with school supplies, it said. One for every child in the school.

She was a single mom, so it was overwhelming for her to think about getting a break on the $100 she usually spent for each of her three children. Then she was curious.

"What church would be able to do that?" she thought. "For every child?"

At the backpack giveaway, she made a point to ask a volunteer handing out the backpacks about NewSpring, and agreed to attend one of the services. She asked Jesus into her life on her first visit to NewSpring Greenville.

The next step

The volunteer she met at the school was the first person who celebrated that life-changing decision with her.

From that point, she began a journey quickly filled with next steps – from baptism to joining the church to volunteering her time to giving God the first 10-percent of her income.

She wanted to trust God with all her life, and she was willing to put his promises to the test.
