Session 33

Looking for a love that just won’t quit?

From Jeremiah: A 33-Day Devotional

Time and time again, God’s chosen people turned away from His love and protection. God showed them the horrible consequences they would suffer as a result of their actions.

However, God also promised to forgive and restore them. He allowed His prophet Jeremiah to tell them about Jesus as a promise of His goodness. God showed that His love would endure and would not change.

“...there will be heard once more the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord… For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord” (Jeremiah 33:10-11).

We remain a sin-prone people and don’t deserve a love such as this. But because Jesus died for our sin, we are a forgiven people. God’s love endures forever. He has never broken a promise. He is always faithful to forgive and care for those who give Him the glory and are obedient to His commands.

Reflect:

  • What’s one area of your life you need God to restore? God loves us and is willing to forgive us if we’ll just ask.
  • One of the ways we see God’s love endure is by passing down stories of His faithfulness to those we know. What’s one way you can share your story of what Jesus has done for you with your children, family and friends?
