This Sunday we ended our Let's GO Heroes! series as preschoolers learned "I Can Be A Hero Like Jesus!" Jesus is the greatest superhero of all time! We can all be heroes like Jesus by loving God and loving others. The BIble is full of superhero stories about Jesus, and this week we read about the time Jesus fed thousands of people with just a little boy's lunch (Matthew 14:13-22 & John 6:1-15). Click below to watch this story for yourself!
This Sunday in KidSpring preschoolers learned that "I Can Be A Hero Like Noah!" We see in Genesis 6-9 that Noah is a hero because he obeyed. Click below to see his superhero story from the Super Book (the Bible). Zoom back later this week see what Vinny the Villain was up to in Large Group and for a printable hidden picture activity!
This week preschoolers learned that Heroes Are Not Afraid! This is what made David a hero when he fought Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:1-51. There are many things that may frighten your preschooler, but you can help your child to be a hero like David and not be afraid! There are two scriptures that we focused on this week in teaching your child how to not be afraid:
When your child is afraid, remind them that Jesus is always with them (Matthew 28:20) and that Jesus can give them the strength to not be afraid (Philippians 4:13).
You can also help your preschooler learn to not be afraid by playing a game that we played in small group this week! All you will need are some marshmallows and the picture below (click the picture to print). Have fun throwing marshmallow "stones" at Goliath's head just like David did! Have your child say something like "I will not be afraid to (fill in the blank)!" or "God is with me!" each time he/she throws a marshmallow at Goliath's head! Be sure to eat some marshmallows, too!
One of our KidSpring values is "Age-Appropriateness". We want kids of all ages to learn about Jesus on their level, so we do different activities in small group to help the children learn what we're teaching in a way they can understand.
This Sunday toddlers, two-year-olds & preschoolers all learned how to be heroes like Moses who never give up. Toddlers had fun learning how to be heroes as they played with "Super Duck" and two-year-olds said "Never give up!" into the GO Team's Super Phone!
Preschoolers ages 3-5 had fun "Leaping Tall Buildings" to learn different ways they can be heroes who never give up. Some of these include not giving up on sharing, trying new things, being kind when others are mean, and sleeping in your own bed when you're scared.
This Sunday we ended our At the Movies series as we learned that God Made Me To Be Nice! God shows us how to be nice in His Word, like when David was nice to Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel 9:1-13. And our series movie star, BOZ the Big Green Bear, showed us this in his movie "Thank You God for B-O-Zs and 1-2-3s". These are some ways we learned that we can be nice:
And if your child came home with a candy treat, that means he or she could say our series Remember Verse (1 Timothy 4:4) by himself in small group! Join us next week as we begin a new series called, Let's GO Heroes!
