Communications Copywriter Internship

The Communications Copywriter Intern at NewSpring Church plays a vital role in communicating on behalf of NewSpring Church through planning, copywriting, and execution across multiple platforms, including text and email communications, print pieces, and digital platforms. This role upholds NewSpring’s brand voice and style guide standards, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and helps activate audiences toward everyday relationships with Jesus, while taking ownership of real projects. 

Building the Person

  • Develop and grow in skills and integrity through learning opportunities in everyday relationships with Jesus and the Communications Team. (Psalm 78:72)
  • Engage in real-life ministry experiences and explore diverse leadership styles.
  • Participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with the Communications Coordinator.
  • Actively contribute to the Communications Team through meetings, prayer times, and collaborative efforts.
  • Support the ongoing innovation and future of Communications at NewSpring Church.


Building the Kingdom

The Communications Copywriter Intern will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Own the creation, build, and delivery of the weekly Need to Know email (16,000+ subscribers), including copy readiness, formatting, testing, and on-time execution.
  • Independently write for communications across platforms, including text messages, emails, www.newspring.cc, and the NewSpring App as delegated.
  • Copyedit and quality-check communications with high accuracy, ensuring alignment with grammar standards, brand voice, and the NewSpring style guide.
  • Contribute to a content team that partners with the Communications Team to analyze, edit, and revamp all existing NewSpring articles, studies, and stories content.
  • Prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Actively receive, apply, and implement feedback to improve writing, communication strategy, and execution.
  • Build, maintain, and organize master copy documents to clearly and accurately deliver finalized messaging to other teams.
  • Deliver the Sunday Series Titles to the Spanish translation company and deliver back to the Communications Team.
  • Attend and serve as a Communications Team member at Gauntlet 2027, executing assigned communications and supporting real-time needs.

Own one communication platform for Gauntlet 2027 and execute copy from start to finish.
