Guest Services Internship

Greenville, SC


This internship is designed for someone eager to grow spiritually while gaining hands-on ministry and leadership experience within the local church. The intern will help lead three to four Guest Services teams, support weekly preparation and Sunday operations, and carry key operational and administrative responsibilities. This role also includes overseeing current systems and testing new ideas to improve processes and the overall Guest Experience. 

The intern will work closely with the Guest Services Director by stepping into leadership and pastoral moments, helping build and intentionally care for large teams, identifying leadership potential and gifts in current volunteers, planning team-building events that strengthen culture and community, and creatively dreaming about how to build healthy, fun, and thriving teams. 

This position is best suited for someone who is organized, relational, energetic, and passionate about creating a welcoming environment where guests feel seen, valued, and connected to Jesus and the life of the church. 

Role Expectations: 

Administrative and Operational Responsibilities: 

  • Follow up with first-time guests to ensure they feel welcomed and connected.
  • Manage operational tasks like ordering coffee, office needs, and volunteer room supplies/ snacks.
  • Dream and plan seasonal experiences for Volunteer Headquarters, creating a fun, family-like environment for volunteers.
  • Collaborate with the party planning committee to execute campus-wide events such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, and Christmas set-up/tear-down.
  • Help design and execute a smooth, high-energy Sunday experience for every guest, stepping in wherever needed. 


Shepherding and Leadership Development: 

  • Lead, oversee, guide, and coach six to seven team leaders across the coffee, office, volunteer headquarters, and new serve teams to improve the effectiveness of their teams.
  • Help team leaders grow in integrity of heart (their love for Jesus) and skill of hand (running an effective Sunday operation) through consistent touchpoints both in person and over the phone.
  • Partner with the Guest Services Director in Next Steps Conversations to discern the gifts and best placements of new volunteers.
  • Participate in events that are held to enhance Leadership Development. 


Team Engagement: 

  • Participate in monthly Guest Services team meetings and attend one Thursday night gathering per month.
  • Join weekly statewide Guest Services meetings to collaborate and be a part of the Guest Services team across the state.
  • Cast vision, support volunteers, and help create a culture of both fun and team within the Greenville Guest Services Team.
