Financial Stewardship includes the biblical principles of tithing, offerings, and generosity. Tithing is the practice of bringing the first tenth of our gross income to our local church. Tithing is an acknowledgement that God is the owner of all and we are dependent on Him. The discipline of tithing teaches us to trust God’s provision and breaks the back of greed in our lives. When we obediently bring our tithe to the Church, our hearts are trained to be more like Christ’s. While we may not see an immediate financial return, we are promised blessings as we obediently practice this discipline.
