In “The Wizard of Oz”, Glenda the Good Witch tells Dorothy, “All you have to do is believe.” Sure enough, Dorothy clicked her heels and found herself back at home because she believed.

Prayer is a lot like that. I’m not saying that if you click your ruby slippers three times, you’ll get everything you want. Sometimes what we want isn’t what’s best for us. What I am saying is that we must be earnest in our prayers and believe that God will answer them.

It’s OK to pray for big things. God has unlimited resources and ability. In Matthew 7:9-11, Jesus says, “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him” (emphasis added). So what big things do you want to see God do in your life? Go ahead, ask Him.
