Acts 9.1-22

Who can bring dead things to life? Who can change a selfish person into a servant? Who can change a persecutor into a believer? Jesus is the only one.

History is full of people changed by following Jesus. Paul is one example of how Jesus totally transforms. Paul, known at this time as Saul, is on a trip to persecute people who believe in Jesus. He is seeking prisoners to carry back to Jerusalem. On the journey, Jesus reveals himself to Paul. In a few days time, Paul is, “preaching in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God” (Acts 9:20).

If this were an isolated incident, you could argue that there’s nothing to it. But how do you argue with thousands of changed lives? Paul writes in Romans 5:7-8, “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Every day, people are being changed by what Jesus did to show His love to the world.
