Finished. It’s a powerful feeling. 

Whether you’re paying off debt, finishing a degree, or coming to the end of a treatment plan, your life changes when you hear the words, “It’s finished.” No more bills. No more term papers. No more chemo treatments. Those realities welcome in a whole new set of possibilities. 

When Jesus died, He said those same powerful words: “It is finished” (John 19:30). 

Jesus’ death paid for our sins past, present, and future. When Jesus rose from the grave, Satan’s power in this world ended. Sin’s hold over us is finished. We live in shame no more. Our old self is gone, and a new life has begun! 

It’s time to live in that reality. The same way that we stop sending checks when a bill is paid, it’s time to live like sin and shame really were finished on the cross.
