He’s Got Time!

“Ain’t nobody got time for that!” If you’ve seen the Sweet Georgia Brown clip on the internet you probably just chuckled a bit. We have all thought that before about something going wrong in our lives. But how many times has someone told you they didn’t have time for you? Maybe they didn’t say, “I don’t have time for you,” but their body language indicated you were not a top priority. Satan tries his best to tell us all the time that God doesn’t care about us or that our problems are too small for God to acknowledge. This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

In Luke 18:35-42, we see a blind man sitting on the side of the road calling out to Jesus. Many people traveled this road often and most likely they knew this man. It’s also safe to say that hundreds were aware of his condition and few ever did anything to help. As Jesus approached people yelled at the man to be quiet. However, against the rebukes of the crowd, the man cried out to Jesus, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Louder and louder he shouted, drowning out the naysayers. And verse 40 tells us, “Jesus stopped…”

No matter how big or impossible your circumstances may appear, Jesus has time for you. He is concerned with what concerns you. Jesus already knows what you need, but by calling out to Him and surrendering your problems you demonstrate your faith, which over and over again in scripture is the first step toward a miracle. Don’t let anyone, including Satan, keep you from crying out to Jesus. He’s got all the time in the world.

Reflect:

  • What issues or problems in your life do you need to give over to the Lord today?
  • Do you have a story like the blind man that needs to be shared? Who in your life might need to hear it and be encouraged today?
